Football Fridays 10-2

The much-awaited debut of GBP’s Football Fridays in Georgia will make its season debut this week when the Cedar Grove Saints travel to play the Milton Eagles in a matchup of two of the state’s top programs.

Cedar Grove has won the Class 3A championship the last two seasons and in three of the last four seasons. They reached the semifinals in both 2015 and 2017 and have become the flagship program for DeKalb County.

Cedar Grove will be playing its first game. Because of concerns with COVID-19, DeKalb County schools opted to wait until this week to play. The Saints are coached by Miguel Patrick.

Milton won the Class 7A title behind all-state quarterback Jordan Yates (now at Georgia Tech) in 2018 and reached the second round in 2019. The Eagles are 2-0 and coming off a 43-18 win over Hapeville Charter. The Eagles are coached by Adam Clack.
