Five Questions: Newton's Nyland Green
Primary Content
Nyland Green is a starting cornerback for Newton High School in Covington. The 6-foot-2, 183-pound senior is the No. 6 cornerback in the country and No. 10 overall player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Green said it’s a blessing to have programs like Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and even Alabama after his talents. He is still undecided on which program he wants to play for, but he plans to make a decision in November.
The 5-star recruit is looking for a school that fits him on and off the field, somewhere that can set him up for success outside of football.
Find out more about Green’s recruiting process and senior season in an interview with GPB’s Hannah Goodin:
Green is taking this season game by game and really focusing on his senior year with the Rams. His favorite high school memories are celebrating with his teammates after they make big plays on Friday nights.
“It’s amazing playing for Newton. I’m around some of the best players on offense and defense, and the best coaches you’ll ever come across in high school. It’s really just fun and exciting,” said Green.
