Five Questions: Bleckley County's Amarius Mims
Primary Content
The No. 1-ranked player in the state, Amarius Mims, committed to the University of Georgia over Alabama, Auburn, Florida State and Tennessee.
Mims is a starting offensive lineman for Bleckley County in Cochran. The 6-foot-8, 320-pound senior is also the No. 3 OT in the country and No. 7 overall player in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.
The 5-star recruit announced that he would be playing for the Dawgs live on CBS Sports HQ on Oct. 14. His parents were sitting on either side of him during the broadcast, but he said the nerves really kicked in right before he went on air.
Find out why Mims chose Georgia and more about his recruiting process in an interview with GPB’s Hannah Goodin:
Mims joins an already loaded 2021 recruiting class for the Bulldogs, including the No. 34 overall player in the country in 5-star quarterback Brock Vandagriff.
Mims and Vandagriff are good friends and that’s another reason why he chose to play for Georgia. It’s now looking like Georgia will have a top 10 or even top 5 recruiting class once again.
