Here are our nominees this week.
Jalen Marshall, South Paulding, OLB/ SS, SR
Marshall is 6’2, 200lb Outside Linebacker/Strong Safety and the younger brother of Thomas Marshall, Navy Running Back. Just ranked as a 3 Star Safety, Marshall benches 255 lbs and squats 360 lbs. He also runs a 4.5 Forty. He was an All-County player as well as All-Region the last two years. His stats this year through 6 games: 63 tackles; 13 tackles for loss; 6 sacks; 3 pbu; and 2 forced fumbles. He is versatile as a player, playing both sides of the ball this year. Marshall has a 3.4 GPA, is a volunteer mentor for elementary aged youth and plans to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering.

Mateo Guevara, Cherokee Bluff, T/DE, JR
Guevara is a 6’4 260 LBS Tight End and Defensive End for Cherokee Bluff High School. He was named 1st team All-Region, Lineman of the Week, and Pre-state Honorable mention. He loves to go up against adversity because not only does it make him a better man but also a better person off the field.

Chandler “Makinley” Everett, Dade County, QB/ FS, SR
Everett is a 6'0" 165 LBS Quarterback and Forward Stop for Dade County High School. At the age of six, Everett joined a recreational league and fell completely head over heels in love with the sport, despite always being the smallest of the group. He entered high school at 5’5” and 109 pounds, and through a strict regimen of eating six meals and working out two times a day, he has been able to grow to 6’0” and 165 pounds. Through hard work and persistence he has set two new passing records for Dade County High School with 351 yards/game and 1156 yards/season.

Carlos Cervantes, Marietta, MLB, JR
Cervantes is a 5'10" 215 LBS Middle Linebacker at Marietta High School. Last year, he tied for 2nd place in 7A region 3 in tackles (124) and was in the Top 10 for 7A in the state of Georgia. Cervantes has started on varsity since his freshman year and was the starting middle linebacker last year for the state champs. Before high school, he was a FBU Top gun player and won the Class of 2022 Leadership award. Cervantes was also a 3-time International Bowl player and represented USA and Georgia in Dallas, Texas at the International Bowl and played in the Future Stars Game twice. He was also named MVP at Under Armour All-American camp in Georgia his 8th grade year.

Ryan Chandley, Cherokee, OL, JR
Chandley is a 6'4" 270 LBS Offensive Lineman at Cherokee High School. He has played as a Varsity Lineman for 2 years. This offseason, Chandley committed to football training and added 70 LBS of muscle in less than 8 months. Due to his impactful change, his 40-yard time went from 5.3 to 4.76. Aside from sports, Chandley is in the top 15% of his class and is interested in studying either business or engineering in college.

Joshua Huiet, Johns Creek, K/ P, SR
Huiet is a 6'0" 180 LBS Kicker/Punter at Johns Creek High school. Last season he was the only starting punter and his average was 34.2%. Huiet took advantage of COVID and worked out non stop during the spring/summer to improve his stats this season. Not only did he improve his stats, but he is now one of the top punters in Georgia, averaging 42.2 yards per punt and is 4/5 on field goals.

Trey Roth, Roswell, NG, SR
Roth is a 5'10" 270 LBS Nose Guard at Roswell High School. He has a 3.98 GPA and has been on the Principal’s Honor Roll throughout high school. Roth is heavily involved with both the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Beta Club. Aside from football, he also participates in wrestling and track and field. Roth has one offer from Rhodes College but is looking for more.

Tyler Hughes, Marietta, QB, JR
Hughes is a 6'1" 195 LBS Quarterback at Marietta High School. In just 5 games, he has been named the leading passer in Cobb County, #4 in 7A and top 20 in Georgia. Roth has thrown for 1,241 yards with 15 passing touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He is also the leading rusher at Marietta with 257 yards and 3 touchdowns.
