Parkview Camden header

GPB begins its playoff stretch of Football Fridays in Georgia with an excellent first-round match in Class 7A featuring Camden County vs. Parkview at the Big Orange Jungle in Lilburn.

Camden County (5-5) is the No. 3 seed from Region 1. The Wildcats, coached by Bob Sphire, were 4-1 at one point this season, including a win over defending state champion Marietta. But the Wildcats have lost four of their last five games and were beaten 28-21 by Lowndes in the season finale.

Parkview (6-3) is the No. 2 seed from Region 4. The Panthers, coached by Eric Godfree, have dropped two of their last three games, including a 47-7 decision to No. 1 Grayson. The Panthers lost to arch-rival Brookwood 35-25 in the last game of the regular season.

The teams haven’t played since 2004 when No. 1 Camden defeated No. 3 Parkview 12-10 in the season opening Corky Kell Classic at the Georgia Dome.
