GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia will open the season with Creekside at Cartersville, a pair of the state’s top Class 5A teams.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

No. 5 Creekside is 2-0 with impressive wins over defending Class 7A champion Grayson and Class 6A No. 3 Westlake. The Seminoles are coached by Maurice Dixon.

No 7 Cartersville is 2-0 with wins over Morrow and West Forsyth. The Purple Hurricanes had last weeks’ game against Alexander cancelled because of COVID. Cartersville is coached by Conor Foster, who took the club to the state title game in 2020.

Cartersville won last year’s game 21-18. It was the first meeting between the two schools.
