Make That Kid An Offer

GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters. If you, or someone you know, doesn’t have an offer or may just be looking for a bigger offer, tell us your story. Here are our nominees this week.

 

Andrew Guth, Johns Creek, DE/ OLB, SR

Guth is a 6’4” 215 LBS Defensive End and Outside Linebacker at Johns Creek High School. His stats include: 42 Tackles, eight TFL, three Sacks, one Pass Deflection, one Forced Fumble, and one Fumble Recovery. Guth has been recognized as a Scholar-Athlete for three years. He maintains a 3.8 GPA and scored a 31 on the ACT. Guth has five offers but is looking for recognition from a D1 program. Off the field, he is a freshman mentorship leader and a flag football coach.

Javeon Miller, Creekside, OLB/DE, JR

Miller is a 6’1” 193 LBS Outside Linebacker and Defensive End at Creekside High School. Currently he has 16 sacks on the year. Along with football, he also wrestles and plays tennis. Last year he helped the tennis team make the playoffs for the first time in school history. He maintains a 3.0 GPA and has two offers, from Marshall and Arkansas State.

Braxtyn Davies, East Coweta, LB, FR

Davies is a 5’11” 181 LBS Linebacker at East Coweta High School. He has played football for the past seven years and wrestled for two years. Davies says he absolutely loves football, from weight training to speed/agility training, cardio, position training to the discipline of consuming proper calories and foods. The friends and teammates that he has made through the sport drive him to do better in sports and academics. Davies says they academics are a top priority. Although he loves athletics he says at some point, athletics end and he will need to rely on his academics. Davies is a 4.0 student and received the Presidential Educational Excellence Award last school year for Outstanding Academic Excellence. He is a member and competitor for the Science Olympiad and joined BETA club this year.  Davies other extracurriculars include volunteering for youth football and in his community, especially after the tornado that came through Newnan on March 26th.

C.J. Donaldson, Metter, DE, JR

Donaldson is a 6’2” 215 LBS Defensive End at Metter High School. He plays multiple positions on defense like OLB, MLB, but his main position right now is DE. Donaldson says his mom has kept him in sports since a young age and he has always excelled. He says the people from his community are a great source of inspiration and love seeing him play. He hopes his efforts will allow him to take his talent to the next level

Alexander Diggs, Brookwood, RB/ SS, SR

Diggs is a 5’9” 197 LBS Running Back and Strong Safety at Brookwood High School. He has been a Bronco since he was 6 years old and is a three-year starter for the varsity football team. His stats are: 78 carries for 455 yards with 8 TD’s, 5.83 yards per carry, 40 catches for 628 yards with 6 TD’s, 15.7 yards per catch and is #20 in the state in receiving among all classifications. Off the field he has a 4.0 GPA and scored a 24 on the ACT. His only offer is from Davidson, but has interest from Navy, Air Force, Southeast Missouri, and Harvard.

Will Taylor, Cambridge, WR, JR

Taylor is a 6”3 170 LBS Wide Receiver at Cambridge High School. In addition to football, he also plays basketball at Cambridge and plans to run track in the spring. Although he doesn’t have much time outside of sports, he recently joined DECA and plans to become more involved with the organization. In the classroom, he takes a mix of honors and AP level courses. He says he hopes to play football in college but wants to make sure his grades get him into the colleges of his choice.

Bryce Davis, Vidalia, QB, SR

Davis is a 5’11” 175 LBS Quarterback at Vidalia High School. His current stats are: 80-134, 1,141 - 9 TD’s, 111 carries, 623 - 8 TD’s, 1,684 total - 17 TD’s. Davis has a 4.0 GPA and has been offered by Army. Off the field he is a Member of Chamber Youth Leadership, Chick-fil-A Youth Leadership and Meadows Regional Youth Advisory Board.

Zach Harris, Cambridge, QB, SR

Zach Harris is a 6’1” 180 LBS Quarterback at Cambridge High School. He is committed to Georgia Southern to play baseball.  Harris was 22-41 passing for 280 yards with 3 TD leading the Bears back from a 10-point deficit with less than two minutes to play to beat Johns Creek 48-47 in overtime.  Harris scored what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown on a five-yard run in OT.  A four-year starter, Harris has passed for over 6,000 yards in his career.

Josh Thompson, Johns Creek, WR, SR

Thompson is a 5’11” 170 LBS Wide Receiver at Johns Creek. He had an incredible game in the Gladiators heart-breaking 48-47 overtime loss to Cambridge. Thompson had six catches for 241 yards receiving and four touchdowns.  After not getting a chance to play his junior season after a house fire displaced his family, Thompson is trying to make up for lost time. He has offers from Eastern Kentucky, UT-Martin, Jacksonville State and Mississippi Valley State but hoping to land a Power 5 conference scholarship opportunity.
