Two of the state’s most successful Class 7A programs meet this week in GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia when No. 8 Marietta travels to play No. 3 Milton in a second-round clash.

Marietta (7-4) opened the playoffs with a 28-14 win over Tift County. The Blue Devils, who won the state championship in 2019 under coach Richard Morgan, were the second-seeded team out of Region 3. They lost to No. 1-ranked North Cobb 35-9 on Oct. 29 in a game that determined the region championship.

Milton (10-1) began the playoffs by beating Duluth 45-14. The Eagles, who on the state championship in 2018 under coach Adam Clack, won the Region 5 championship. Their only blemish is a 40-21 loss to North Cobb on Aug. 27,
