Players of the Year

Isaiah Collier of Wheeler and Courtney Ogden of Westminster are GPB’s Boys and Girls Basketball Players of the Year.

Isaiah Collier

Isaiah Collier - Wheeler - Consensus No. 1 Overall Prospect in the Nation.  Five-Star PG signed with Southern Cal. Highest rated signee in Trojans history. Naismith National High School Player of the Year. Chosen to play in the prestigious McDonald's All-American Game and Nike Hoop Summit.  Helped lead Wheeler to the 7A State Championship.  The Wildcats third state title in four years and ninth all-time.  Stats - 19.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 6.6 apg, 2.3 spg while shooting 49.5 FG, 35.6 3FG and 78.1 FT.

Courtney Ogden

Courtney Ogden - Westminster - 5-Star Wing signed with Stanford.  Rated by espnW the No. 10 senior prospect in the Country. Chosen to play in the prestigious McDonald's All-American Game. Helped lead Wildcats to 4A State Sweet 16 finish.  Stats - 22.1 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 3.1 apg, 2.7 spg while shooting 48 FG, 30 3FG and 90 FT.

Coaches of the Year

Chosen as coaches of the year were Joe Veihman, who took the Cherokee boys to the state championship game for the first time since 1982, and Ashley Luke Clanton of Norcross, whose Blue Devils finished second in the state.

Joe Veihman

Joe Veihman - Cherokee - Led the Warriors to 7A State Championship Game in just his second season as head coach.  It was Cherokee's first State Finals appearance since 1982.  42-16 in two years as head coach after eight seasons as an assistant.

Ashley Luke Clanton

Ashley Luke Clanton - Norcross - Led Blue Devils to second straight 7A State Championship Game finishing as State Runners after tough loss to Brookwood in the Final.  Norcross won the State Title in 2022.  Coach Clanton has a 95-26 record at Norcross in four seasons with State Championship, back-to-back State Finals appearances, one Elite 8 Quarterfinal finish and one Sweet 16 finish..

Arrinten Page - Wheeler - 4-Star Southern Cal signee.  Rated as high as No. 6 Center in the country by 247 Sports and No. 6 overall national prospect. Helped lead Wildcats to the 7A State Championship.  Stats - 15.8 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.6 bpg while shooting 60.4 FG, 30.8 3FG and 65.5 FT.

Ace Bailey - McEachern - 5-Star Rutgers commitment.  Rated as high as No. 1 junior Power Forward in the Nation in the 247 Sports Composite, No. 1 junior in the State and No. 5 overall prospect in the Nation for 2024.  Bailey is the highest rated prospect in Scarlett Knights' history.  Led the Indians to 7A Elite Eight and Quarterfinals finish falling to eventual state champion Wheeler. 

Derrion Reid - Grovetown - 4-Star junior with 11-plus college offers including South Carolina, Georgia and Georgia Tech.  Rated as high as No. 9 Small Forward in the nation and No. 5 prospect in Georgia in 2024.  Led Warriors to 6A Elite Eight Quarterfinal finish. 

Stephon Castle - Newton - 5-Star senior signed with UConn.  Rated as high as No. 1 Combo Guard in the country, No. 2 prospect in Georgia and No. 5 overall national prospect in 2023.  Led Rams to 7A Elite Eight Quarterfinal finish. 

Brandon Rechsteiner - Etowah - 4-Star PG signed with Virginia Tech.  Rated as high as No. 14 senior PG in the country and No. 9 prospect in Georgia.  Led Eagles to 6A Final Four Semifinal finish falling to eventual State Champion Alexander.

Peyton Marshall - Kell - 4-Star Junior committed to Auburn.  The 7-0, 300-pound star is rated as high as the No. 6 junior Center in the Country and No. 4 prospect in the state for 2024. Led the Longhorn to the 5A State Championship. Kell's first boys basketball state title.  Stats - 15.5 ppg, 7.1 rpg and 1.9 bpg. 

Lamariyon "Mari" Jordan - Norcross - 4-Star Senior signed with Georgia.  Rated as high as the No. 18 Small Forward in the nation by ESPN and No. 7 Senior Prospect.  Led Blue Devils to 7A Final Four Semifinal finish before falling to Cherokee.  Stats - 16.3 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.0 bpg while shooting 57.0 FG, 40.9 3FG and 64.6 FT. 

Gicarri Harris - Grayson - 4-Star Junior with 15-plus college offers including Purdue, Stanford and Georgia.  Rated as high as No. 7 junior Combo Guard in the country and No. 7 prospect in Georgia in 2024.  Led Rams to 7A Final Four Semifinal finish before losing to eventual state champion Wheeler.  Stats - 16.4 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 3.6 apg while shooting 51.0 FG, 40.0 3FG and 87 FT. 

Christian Anderson - Lovett - 4-Star Junior committed to Michigan. Rated as high as No. 14 junior PG in the nation and No. 10 prospect in Georgia in 2024.  Led Lions to 4A Sweet 16 finish.  Stats - 26.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 4.1 apg while shooting 47.0 FG, 37.0 3FG and 86.0 FT 

Dylan Faulkner - Calhoun - 6-9 Power Forward signed with Lipscomb.  Led Yellow Jackets to 5A First Round finish.  Stats - 23 ppg and 14 rpg.  Calhoun's all-time career scoring leader and rebounder.

Danielle Carnegie - Rockdale County - 4-Star PG with 16-plus college offers including South Carolina, Virginia Tech and North Carolina.  Rated as high as No. 26 junior prospect in the country by espnW.  Helped lead Bulldogs to 6A Elite Eight Quarterfinals finish.  Stats - 19.7 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.1 apg, 1.7 spg while shooting 52 FG, 39 3FG and 79 FT. 

Diana Collins - Brookwood - 4-Star PG signed with Ohio State.  Rated as high as No. 70 national senior prospect by espnW.  Led Broncos to 7A State Championship. 

Bryanna Preston - Lovejoy - 4-Star PG with 27-plus college offers including Tennessee, Texas and Ole Miss. Rated as high as No. 44 junior prospect in the nation by espnW.  Led Wildcats to 6A State Finals Runner-Up finish.  Stats - 18.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 6.7 apg and 2.2 spg while shooting 48 FG, 39 3FG, 69 FT. 

Crystal Henderson - Kell - College offers include South Carolina.  Led Longhorns to 5A State Championship.  Kell's all-time leading scorer and jersey number already retired.

Olivia Hutcherson - Holy Innocents - Committed to Princeton.  Led Golden Bears to 5A State Final 4 Semifinals finish falling to eventual State Runner-up Baldwin.  Scored over 1,000 career points.  

Kiara Turner - Laney - Nicknamed "The Assassin."  Led Wildcats to 2A Sweet 16 finish.  Senior Stats: 29 ppg, 10 rpg, 4.5 apg, 5 spg.  Scored over 1,000 Career Points. 

Tyyhia Burgess - Turner County - Led Titans to State 1AD2 Sweet 16 finish. Region 2 Player of the Year.  Senior Stats:  24 ppg, 6 rpg, 4 spg.
