The Class 3A No. 6 Carver-Atlanta Panthers will challenge the Class 7A No. 1 Buford Wolves on this week’s Football Fridays in Georgia broadcast. Kickoff from Tom Riden Stadium in Buford will be Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Carver is 1-2. The Panthers opened with a win over LaGrange, but have been beaten the last two weeks by Calhoun and Stephenson, both teams from higher classifications. Carver is coached by Darren Myles.

Buford is 3-0 with wins over national powers St. Frances Academy of Maryland and Mallard Creek of North Carolina, along with last week’s 45-28 victory over North Cobb. Buford is coached by Bryant Appling.

Buford has won both games in the series. The Wolves won 44-16 in 2022, although Carver was ahead 16-15 at halftime. Buford scored four unanswered touchdowns in the second half to pull away.
