GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters. If you, or someone you know, doesn’t have an offer or may just be looking for a bigger offer, tell us your story. DM us on social media or email your details on what you've done over your career, along with your video highlights to GPBSports@gpb.org. If you’re selected we may feature you on our Football Fridays in Georgia Halftime Show Fridays at 7:30 pm on GPB.

Russell Hunley, Monroe Area, WR/SS, SR

Russell Hunley is a 6'0 185 LBS Senior Wide Receiver and Strong Safety at Monroe Area High School. In last week's game against Franklin, he had four catches for 150 yards and one TD. At the safety position, he has completed over 200 tackles in his career. Sam Hensley, Calvary Day, OT/G, JR

Sam Hensley is a 6'3 280 LBS Offensive Left Tackle and Guard at Calvary Day School. The junior starter says an unforgettable athletic highlight he's experienced this year was being honored among the five starting lineman who collectively earned the Savannah Quarterback Club’s Offensive Player of the Week earlier this month. This honor was a first in the club’s 77-year history where they recognized an entire offensive line rather than an individual. The five Cavaliers allowed zero sacks in the 42/21 win over one of the toughest defensive lines in the state, the Savannah Christian Raiders.

When not on the field, Hensley is in the gym with his trainer, David Coleman of Alvin’s Gym. Coleman, a former national-level competitor in bodybuilding, has been a significant mentor for him, both physically and mentally.

Hensley has taken advantage of many of the travel opportunities that Calvary Day has to offer. Last January, he was able to participate in a mission’s trip to Jacksonville and is looking forward to an opportunity to travel to Greece this coming January. A member of Trinity United Methodist Church, he is a faithful early-morning volunteer for the church’s annual Christmas Breakfast for the Homeless and is a designated “mover” for the church’s sponsored refugee families. He has a 3.3 GPA.
