Two iconic Georgia football powers will clash Friday when Rome travels to Carrollton for GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia.

Rome is ranked No. 6 in Class 5A and Carrollton is No. 1 in Class 6A in the GPB Rankings. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m.

Carrollton (2-0) defeated Columbia 35-7 on Friday night. The Trojans are led by all-state quarterback JuJu Lewis, who has committed to play at Southern Cal.

Rome has yet to play a game. The Wolves season opener was cancelled as a precautionary move after a school bus overturned on the way home from a preseason scrimmage. As many as 15 players sustained injuries, leaving coach John Reid to cancel the opener against Creekside.

Rome leads the series 6-4. The schools were in the same region for six years and have continued to play, despite being in different classifications.

Carrollton has won the last two meetings,  33-13 in 2023 and 23-6 in 2022.
