Make That Kid An Offer Nominees: Week of September 2

GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters. If you, or someone you know, doesn’t have an offer or may just be looking for a bigger offer, tell us your story. Send the details on what you've done over your career, along with your video highlights to GPBSports@gpb.org. If you’re selected we may feature you on our Football Fridays in Georgia Halftime Show Fridays at 7:30 pm on GPB.
Here are our nominees for the week of September 2nd, 2024.
Jackson Thompson, Chapel Hill, ATH, SR
Jackson Thompson is a 5'10 170 LBS senior athlete for the Chapel Hill Panthers. The All-Region sophomore and junior, has been making waves this season with his versatile play as a running back, wide receiver, defensive back, and kick returner. In a recent game against Osborne, he showcased his talents by accumulating 200 all-purpose yards, scoring a touchdown, and contributing five tackles on defense. Thompson not only dominates on the field but also in the classroom, where he maintains a solid GPA of 3.46, making him a standout prospect for college programs eager to add such a well-rounded and talented player to their teams. The multi-sport athlete also runs track and is a 2024 5A 4x200 state champion.

Jamon Jones, Jonesboro, QB, SR
Jamon Jones is a 5'11 160 LBS senior quarterback for the Jonesboro Cardinals. According to Max Preps, he is 135 of 235, with 2,020 yards and 20 touchdowns. Here are a few words from “Coach Coop," his position coach: "This guy Jamon Jones “Duke” is a special one. He has a natural gift of being a leader and pushes everyone around him to be better. Not just on the field but also in the classroom, etc."

A’Darrian Taylor-Wilson, Cartersville, WR/KR, SR
A'Darrian Taylor-Wilson is a 5'10 170 LBS senior wide receiver and kick returner for the Cartersville Purple Hurricanes. An impact player, during his junior year, he played lights out against the team's cross-town rival Cass, catching two touchdowns, including the game-winner. His performance earned him the High Five Sports Player of the Game award. Last year, Taylor-Wilson also recorded a top 10 national speed of 21.22 MPH during a 70-yard kick return that turned into a touchdown. He finished the season with 329 receiving yards and a kick return touchdown, contributing to the Canes' advancement to the 4th round of the 5A playoffs.
This season, as a senior, Taylor-Wilson scored Cartersville’s first touchdown of the season with a 41-yard catch and run. He was subsequently named Offensive Player of the Week and Receiver of the Week. He maintains a 3.2 GPA and volunteers regularly in his community. In the future, he has aspirations of playing college football while pursuing a degree in Business.

J.T. Way, Pope, RB/WR, SR
J.T Way is a 5'7 160 LBS senior running back and wide receiver for the Pope Greyhounds. The 2025 recruit led Pope in rushing yards last season, was named 2nd Team All-Region, and won the Hustle Award. In just three games, according to Max Preps, Way has 45 carries, 265 rushing yards, and one touchdown, including a 70-yard kickoff return against Dunwoody in week three. He was named Player of the Year as a freshman and won the Class Act award as a sophomore. Way runs track for the Greyhounds and in his spare time, coaches the Pope 3rd grade football team. In the future, he hopes to pursue coaching as a profession.

Messiah Worriels, New Hampstead, SS/WR, SR
Messiah Worriels is a 5'10 165 LBS senior strong safety and wide receiver for the New Hampstead Phoenix. The three-year varsity starter is a hard-working, dedicated player with 15 tackles, one sack, and one interception in just three games on the season. A multi-sport athlete, Worriels also plays baseball for the Phoenix. He currently has no offers and is eagerly waiting for a school to give him a chance to play at the next level.

Da'shaun Williams, Hiram, RB, SR
Da'shaun Williams is a 5'11 190 LBS senior running back for the Hiram Hornets. The three-year starter is a versatile player who can run, pass block, catch out in the backfield, or line up in the slot receiver position. According to Max Preps, he's notched 1,420 All Purpose Yards - 1,165 rushing and 249 receiving - and eight touchdowns. Williams has a 3.4 GPA, and currently has no official offers but has received attention from a few colleges around the nation.

Trey Walker, Mill Creek, WR/S, SR
Trey Walker is a 5'10 170 LBS senior wide receiver and safety for the Mill Creek Hawks. A member of the 2023 7A state championship team, he's been recognized as a VTO Sports All-American, Top Wide Receiver at Rusty Mansell's MVP Camp, and named an All-American at the Blue and Gray All-American Bowl this year. He finished his junior year with nine catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns. In just three games this season, he has eight catches for 187 yards and one touchdown. Walker is not only a standout on the football field but also in track, where he holds four school records in the 100, 4x100, 4x200, and Medley Relay, and as a junior, he placed fifth at state in the 100. The varsity starter wishes to play at the next level, and eventually in the NFL.

Mason Munn, Creekview, RB/OLB, JR
Mason Munn is a 5'10 190 LBS junior running back and outside linebacker for the Creekview Grizzlies. A longtime lover of the game, Munn has played football since the first grade and in the Forsyth area throughout grade school. In just three games as a junior, the varsity starter has notched 43 carries with 290 yards, averages 6.7 yards per carry, and one touchdown. During his sophomore season, he received Honorable Mention All-Region and Second Team All-County, after finishing the season with 148 carries - 615 yards rushing with four touchdowns and 83 receiving yards for five receptions. Despite his hard work and growth through the years, Munn is still waiting for his ideal offer to fulfill his dreams of playing at the next level.
