Gainesville and Roswell, a pair of state-ranked teams, will both be trying to keep their Region 7-5A title hopes alive when they meet on GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia.

No. 6 Gainesville (7-2, 4-1) is coming off a 55-26 win over Chattahoochee, while No. 5 Roswell (7-1, 4-0) beat Lanier 59-42 on Friday.

Both teams trail No. 1 Milton in the region standings. Gainesville lost to Milton 42-24 and Roswell plays Milton, its longtime rival, in the season finale.

This will be just the third meeting between the teams. Gainesville won 35-28 in the 2022 state semifinals and won 14-6 in the 1985 quarterfinals. Both games were decided in overtime.

Kickoff on GPB-TV will be at 7:30 p.m.
