Week 11: Five games to watch

With only three weeks left in the extended regular season, the games are becoming more and more important. This week there are region championships to be determined and playoff positions to be decided.
Here are five important games to keep an eye on.
Richmond Hill at Lowndes: Richmond Hill (7-1, 2-1) shook up the Region 1-6A race by beating Valdosta on Friday. Lowndes (7-1, 2-1) improved its playoff odds by defeating Camden County. The winner will clinch a spot in the state playoffs. The series is tied 1-1 and Richmond Hill won 37-14 in 2023.
Grayson at South Gwinnett: The two Gwinnett County rivals, whose campuses are only six miles apart, will play for the Region 4-6A championship. No. 7 Grayson (5-1, 2-0) has won the last 10 meetings with South Gwinnett (6-1, 3-0). Grayson leads the series 17-5.
Gainesville at Roswell: No. 6 Gainesville (7-2, 4-1) is coming off a 55-26 win over Chattahoochee, while No. 5 Roswell (7-1, 4-0) beat Lanier 59-42 on Friday. The winner will keep its hopes alive to win the Region 7-4A championship. The game will be televised on GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia.
Cherokee Bluff at Jefferson: The Region 8-3A title will go to the winner. No. 5 Cherokee Bluff (8-0, 3-0) is pursuing its first title since 2021, when the Bears posted an undefeated regular season. No. 2-ranked Jefferson (6-2, 3-0) has won three straight since losing the 4A power Norh Oconee.
Fannin County at Christian Heritage: No. 4 Fannin County (8-0, 5-0) can win the Region 7-A Division I championship with a win over Christian Heritage (7-1, 5-0). This is the first meeting between the teams.
