About Greenbrier: The Wolfpack (20-1), who won a state championship a year ago, won the Area 1 championship. Senior quarterback Kenzie Horton has thrown for 2,534 yards and 42 touchdowns. Aaliyah Silver leads the team with 76 receptions and 21 touchdowns and Maggie Pangle has 63 receptions for 10 touchdowns. Pangle is also the team’s leading rusher with 327 yards and one touchdown. Sophie Campanaro (71 tackles) and Silver (70 tackles, 11 interceptions) lead the defense. Ariana Boone has 13 sacks and Presley McDermott has seven interceptions.

About North Oconee: The Titans (17-4) won the Area 8 championship. Quarterback Catherine Cooper, a junior, has thrown for 2,028 yards and 35 touchdowns. Top receivers are Kallie Mashburn (44 receptions, nine TDs), Elizabeth Patterson (43 receptions, 13 TDs) and Anslee Solodkii (38 receptions, nine TDs). Lexi Favreau has rushed for 189 yards and five touchdowns. Blake Wiepking and Anniston Scott lead the team with five interceptions. North Oconee’s football team is also playing in the championship game on Monday vs. Marist, making it the only school represented in the final for both sports.
