Kenzie Horton threw two touchdown passes and the Greenbrier defense recorded its 17th shutout of the season as the Wolfpack beat North Oconee 18-0 in the Division 2 flag football championship on Monday.

Horton, a senior, completed 15 of 22 passes for 154 yards and touchdown passes to Maggie Pangle and Mamie Pangle. The final pass of Horton’s career was a touchdown pass,

The Greenbrier defense, led by freshman Sophie Campanaro’s five tackles and two pass breakups, limited North Oconee to 47 total yards – including minus-14 yards rushing. The Wolfpack also got interceptions from Lexi Lacey and Presley McDermott.

McDermott had five catches for 51 yards for Greenbrier (21-1). Three players had three catches: Maggie Pangle 42 yards), Aaliyah Silver (28 yards) and Abby Lester (10 yards).

North Oconee (17-5) quarterback Catherine Cooper was 7-for-21 passing for 61 yards, but had two interceptions. Addie Stewart had two catches, including a 12-yarder that was the long gain of the game.

“I’m just overwhelmed,” Horton said. “It’s a lot right now. It’s going to set in later for sure on the bus ride back and we’re all going to feel it. But it’s just amazing to be able to do it with a great team and great coaches.”
