Cee Lo Green and Shadonna Alexander at Ground Breaking ceremony for Greenhouse Foundation

A lot of celebrities promise that the moment they hit it big, they will give back to their communities. Now, there have been many celebrities who have yet to fulfill that commitment but not Grammy Award Winning artist Cee Lo Green. He and his sister Shedonna Alexander launched the groundbreaking ceremony for the Greenhouse Foundation this past Friday on August 17th, 2012 at the Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy in Atlanta Georgia. The ceremony started at 10:00am and guest were treated to appearances by Cee Lo Green himself, Atlanta Mayor Kashim Reed, and the event’s emcee Art Terrell of KISS 104.1-FM. During the event, there were special presentations from the Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy staff and students and the Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvan Cochran. The Greenhouse Foundation is dedicated in honor of Cee Lo Green and Shedonna Alexander’s late Mother Sheila J. Callaway Tyler. The Greenhouse Foundation and its adopted schools are determined to uphold the organization’s mission, which is “to educate, inspire, and influence school aged children in disadvantaged areas to become responsible stewards of their environment, communities and future.” The ceremony ended with the children from the Greenhouse Foundation’s sponsored schools releasing butterflies in the air. An exceptional event to kick off the start of the school year! Going Green with the Greenhouse foundation.
