Hey!! Did You Know… Valdosta Wildcats vs. MLK Lions!!!

Valdosta High School located in Valdosta, Georgia is home to the Mighty Wildcats, where their motto is “to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." Their mission is not only to courage their students to graduate but to cultivate each and every student to continue to seek knowledge in this forever changing and challenging world. Valdosta High offers many great opportunities for students to get involved with helping their community. Hey! Did you know… that Valdosta City Schools received a Federal grant last year to begin establishing a Homeless Educational Services program which is designed to provide assistance to those students who are considered to be homeless. The program is doing awesome, recently receiving a $1,000 donation from the Tabernacle Church of God in Christ of Valdosta. So inspiring! The Valdosta Wildcats prove that you’re never too young to make a difference!

Martin Luther King Jr. High School located in Lithonia, Georgia was named after the most influential and widely respected civil rights leader Dr. King. The MLK Lions first opened their doors in fall of 2001. MLK High School offers many great campus activities such as the BETA Club, the Chess Club/Team, the Chorus and of course the Mighty Marching Lions! Who was the only high school marching band to ever take a trip to Africa! The marching band is not the only campus activity that steals the spotlight, the lions football team has made it to the Georgia Dome many times before, so how about it guys, did you think you can reign supreme this year!?! We shall see! Hey! Did You Know… that yours truly is an alumni of MLK! Also, in 2006 a special selection of MLK student had the pleasure of attending a speech by the late Coretta Scott King! How lucky were they!?!
