Winning a state championship in any sport is an incredible accomplishment...claiming back-to-back state titles is a commitment to excellence that has to be applauded. The boys basketball team at Jonesboro High School pulled off that daily double this year, winning two 4A titles in a row. This week, the entire school turned out for a huge pep rally to honor James Walker, Deantre Mack, Austin Donaldson and all the players for their outstanding accomplishment

Coach Dan Maehlman is understandably proud of his players who put in all the hours of hard work that led them on their 'March to Macon' and back-to-back state titles.

So, as I said at the trophy presentation this year, the Maehlman has delivered back-to-back trophies. Congratulations to the entire Jonesboro Cardinal family on a job very well done!
