(Wednesday 5/11) Runway For A Cure
Who doesn’t love a good fashion show? “Runway for a Cure” takes place Wednesday and features designs from the boutique,"fab'rik", and their new summer styles. The show benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It’s from 6:30 to 8:30 at The Indian Queen on the corner of Wrightsboro Rd. and Monte Sano Ave. More information on the Runway For A Cure Augusta Facebook page.
(Thursday 05/12) Meditation in the Galleries
Want to learn how to meditate, while surrounded by art? This Thursday morning at 8:45, the Morris Museum of Art presents “Meditation in the Galleries,” with instructor and author Kevin Sharpe. The event is limited to twenty participants, so pre-registration is required. The museum is at Tenth and Reynolds in Augusta. More info at TheMorris.org .

This Thursday, Friday and Saturday, The Jessye Norman School of The Arts presents their production of “The Wiz”, the Tony Award winning “re-tell” of Frank Baum’s classic, “The Wizard Of Oz”. (Friday 5/13 – Sunday 5/15) The Spring Greek Festival
Augusta’s Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church hosts their annual Spring Greek Festival this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The event features great music, stunning costumes, and delicious food, all in celebration of Greek Culture. The church is located at 953 Telfair Street, downtown Augusta. (Friday 05/13 - Saturday 05/14) Aiken Bluegrass Festival
This Friday and Saturday, the Aiken Bluegrass Festival delivers the best bluegrass music in town, with performances by Larry Keel, Mountain Express Band, Doug and the Henrys, Blackwater Deep, and more. The festival is on the Aiken County Fairgrounds, 1566 Columbia Highway North in Aiken. More details at AikenBluegrassFestival.com.
(Saturday 05/14) 10th Annual PaddleFest
What mixes better with warm weather that water? The 10th Annual PaddleFest is Saturday from 9 til 7 at The Savannah Rapids Pavilion at the end of Evans to Locks Road. You can paddle down the river leisurely, or compete in one of the races. The event offers canoe, kayak, or standup paddleboard races. Bring your own or rent one. (Saturday 05/14) Voices of the Past - The Other Tubmans
This Saturday morning at 11:30, the Augusta Museum of History presents, “The Other Tubmans,” from the Voices of the Past Museum Theater Series. In need of something to do to enjoy these beautiful spring nights? “Pops! Under The Stars” is this Saturday. It’s a concert by Symphony Orchestra Augusta along with a fireworks show and food vendors. (Friday 05/20) Sara Evans Concert
CMA award-winning country artist Sara Evans takes the stage to perform her hit songs Friday evening, 8pm, at the Imperial Theatre on Broad St. in downtown Augusta. The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History celebrates Augusta’s rich golfing tradition with an exhibit entitled “The Black Golfing Experience”.
