(Event date: Thu 05/04) Augusta’s Imperial Theatre presents “Deconstructing the Beatles”—the film series by composer, producer and Beatles aficionado Scott Freiman. The series continues this Thursday with an exploration of the Beatles’ extraordinary recording techniques in producing their 1968 double album, the “White Album” which topped both US and UK charts. (Event Date: Fri 05/05) The semi-annual Augusta Handmade Fair is showcasing and selling hand-made goods. Proceeds from this event are donated to the Family Development Ministry to benefit communities in Uganda. The event is happening this Friday in the Doris Building on Broad Street from 5 to 9pm. (Event Date Sun 0507) This Sunday, May 7th, The Augusta Chorale, under the direction n of Dr. Phyllis Anderson, presents their annual spring concert. It takes place at 4pm in Gilbert Lambuth Memorial Chapel on the campus of Paine College. The concert, entitled “Unforgettable Songs and Singers”, features accompanists Angela Arrington, as well as the Suzuki Strings of Augusta. (Event Date: Sun 0507) The Augusta University Music Conservatory Program presents The Sand Hills String Band in concert this Sunday, 7:30pm at Maxwell Theatre on The Augusta University Summerville Campus. The Sand Hills String Band is a guitar, mandolin and fiddle ensemble created to play bluegrass, jazz, popular songs and blues. Admission to this event is free. (Event date: Mon 05/08) It’s Symphony Orchestra Augusta’s 10th Annual Golf Classic and Spring Soiree coming to the Augusta Country Club this Monday, May 8th. Registration begins at 9am for a day of fine amateur golf on the award-winning greens. And at 7:30pm, an evening of music takes place on the Trustee Commons of Episcopal Day School featuring Southern soul singer March Broussard. Both individual and package reservations are available.
