GPB celebrated winning top honors in June, taking home both Emmy and Telly Award statuettes for original productions including  “Football Fridays in Georgia,” “The Future Files,” “Georgia Outdoors,”  “Prime Time Lawmakers,” “Today in Georgia History” and more. On June 8, GPB won 15 Emmys , and the following week on June 14, GPB’s series “Georgia Outdoors” was recognized in New York at the 34th annual Telly awards with two bronze awards for the episodes “Fiddlin’ with Crabs” and “The Water’s Edge.” The episode “Pelican Survivors” received a silver Telly, the highest honor.

The Southeast Regional Emmy Awards are held annually to honor excellence in the broadcasting industry.  The list of winning productions illustrates the breadth of programming Georgia’s public media outlet offers viewers. 

The Telly awards honor outstanding local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs with the finest video and film productions, web commercials and films.
