PBS KIDS announced ALMA’S WAY, a new animated series from Fred Rogers Productions, will premiere on October 4, 2021. The series is created by Sonia Manzano, beloved by generations as “Maria” on Sesame Street, who broke new ground as one of the first Latino characters on national TV.
Five Georgia teachers were selected in the Society for Science's Advocate Program in the 2021-2022 school year. Three of the Advocates will each receive a $3,000 stipend while two Lead Advocates will receive $5,000 each.
Econ Express is a unique online resource that helps teachers and students learn, practice and assess basic economic concepts in a creative and engaging way. Covering 51 concepts, Econ Express serves as a general overview of the content typically taught in a high school “Intro to Economics” course. It’s all here: from the basics of scarcity and productive resources to more intricate topics like comparative advantage and monetary policy.

Great Promise Partnership, a nonprofit that helps at-risk Georgia students complete high school while earning a paycheck, has now joined forces with the Georgia Department of Education. Some 97 percent of participating employers say the students they work with learn valuable skills, particularly in professionalism, communication, and work ethic.

To combat the isolation and mental health challenges COVID-19 has brought to students and educators across America, Hope Givers launched its inaugural HOPE FILM CHALLENGE in 2021. It is an inclusive initiative to make substantive advances for connectedness in schools with students and trusted adults as well as support 6th-12th grade student filmmakers in producing short film content (30-90 seconds) to practice their craft and further develop their storytelling capabilities in telling stories featuring hope and resilience.
