Texts Domain

The purpose of the Texts domain is for students to grow in their learning as they purposefully engage with texts.

This bundle of resources is grounded in the Texts video panel discussions found below and is designed to serve two key audiences: K-12 classroom teachers and the leaders of district professional learning. The panel discussions themselves specifically target classroom teachers, and district leaders may find them useful when they design professional learning experiences. In addition to the videos, you will find a Foundations At-a-Glance document under the Support Materials tab for the full panel discussion video. This resource provides a brief overview of the domain, progression of the big ideas, and links to related resources. When used alongside the Texts panel discussions, this resource supports a better understanding of this domain's key components.

This panel video about the Texts Domain was recorded by Georgia teachers for Georgia teachers to help explain the new standards. The teachers in the video worked on statewide committees to develop the new standards and provide insights as to why certain decisions were made and how teachers can transition to using the new standards during instruction.
