The Commerce Public Library is hosting a Georgia Commission on the Holocaust traveling exhibit titled "Witness to the Holocaust: WWII Veteran William Alexander Scott III" from Aug 29 - Sept 29
The Georgia Commission on the Holocaust strives to preserve the memory of the Holocaust and promote public understanding of the history. It ensures that learning how and why the Holocaust happened is an important part of the education of Georgia citizens.
THE U.S. AND THE HOLOCAUST is a new three-part documentary directed by Ken Burns, Lynn Novick, and Sarah Botstein that will air on PBS stations nationwide starting September 18. The film tells the story of how the American people grappled with one of the greatest humanitarian crises of the twentieth century, and how this struggle tested the ideals of our democracy. GPB is pleased to partner with libraries across the state to provide materials for branch displays and screening events.
