Leonardo da Vinci is widely regarded as a pioneer of biomimicry—an approach that involves studying and emulating nature's designs, processes, and systems to develop sustainable and effective solutions for human challenges. His keen observations of the natural world and his application of these principles in his inventions showcase how nature can inspire human innovation.

Join us for an evening of creativity, collaboration, and discovery. We’ll begin with clips from Leonardo da Vinci, followed by a crash course in biomimicry led by Laura Flusche, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA). Then, in a hands-on workshop, Laura will challenge us to step into the shoes of Renaissance artists and designers like Leonardo as we find inspiration in nature for challenges that humans have faced from the 16th century to the present day.
