Mary Anne serves as the Director of Educational Content at GPB, where she oversees the development of content and resources for educators and students. She is an EMMY Award-winning producer who writes and produces many GPB Education series, including Things Explained and Live Explorations. A native Georgian, Mary Anne graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Georgia earning her Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education, with concentrations in Language Arts and Social Studies. During her time at UGA, she studied abroad at Oxford University, where she took courses in mass journalism and history. Upon graduation, Mary Anne obtained five teaching certificates and taught middle school English/Language Arts in the metro-Atlanta area.
