UGA Stops Using Animal Incinerators
Primary Content
The University of Georgia has stopped using three animal incinerators.
The move comes after the state told UGA it was using them wrong.
UGA’s veterinary school has been burning carcasses and waste from infected animals for years without having permits to do so.
The university is working with the state to correct the problem.
UGA says the improper incineration has posed no threats to public safety or health.
