Governor Sonny Perdue and U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson celebrated the expansion of NCR Corporation's coverage in Georgia today at a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Peachtree City, just south of Atlanta. NCR has built a 360 thousand square foot facility, that includes a "university" for the company's employees at the Fayette County location. It is expected some six thousand employees will travel to the facility from across the country.

NCR is the world’s leading provider of ATM’s and also makes self service kiosks found at grocery stores and airline counters. The company, will now operate in three sites in Georgia -- Duluth, Peachtree City, and Columbus.

At the ribbon cutting in Peachtree City, Perdue praised NCR's management for creating a "cutting edge" company.

"I'm excited about what you all, and NCR, will do, [in creating] those products of the future, that I'm excited about using as well," Perdue said at the ceremony.

Georgia put up more than $60 million in tax breaks and other incentives to lure NCR to move it's headquarters from Dayton, Ohio to Duluth. That location will see the creation of more than 1,200 jobs.

NCR will soon set up a manufacturing center in Columbus, which is expected to create 870 jobs over five years. And today’s event in Peachtree City recognizes the creation of more than 900 jobs by NCR for a customer service center there.
