A company that makes fire detection and safety equipment is opening a distribution center in Lithia Springs west of Atlanta.

Tyco International Ltd. will employ 125 people.

Workers at the more than 200-square foot facility distribute items such as sprinklers, dry pipe valves, fire alarm panels, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and home security systems.

Tyco employs more than 900 people at 16 locations in Georgia.
