Chipper Jones In Surgery
Primary Content
Chipper Jones will miss the start of his farewell season.
Two days after Atlanta's third baseman announced this will be his final year, Braves general manager Frank Wren says the 39-year-old Jones will undergo arthroscopic surgery Monday, to repair torn meniscus in his left knee and will open the season on the disabled list.
Wren says Jones should return in time for the club's April 13 home opener.
Jones missed two weeks last season after having arthroscopic surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee.
