Mercedes-Benz USA To Develop Headquarters In Sandy Springs

Mercedes-Benz USA CEO Steve Cannon says the company's corporate headquarters will be located in the metro Atlanta city of Sandy Springs.

Cannon joined Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal and other officials at a ceremony Tuesday at the state Capitol. Mercedes-Benz officials announced in January that the car manufacturer would relocate its U.S. headquarters from New Jersey to Georgia.

Cannon says a human resources office opened on Tuesday and the company plans to begin operations from a temporary location. Employees will begin relocating to Georgia in June.

Deal has said the company is expecting to create at least 800 jobs and invest about $74 million in its facility.
