Multiple Outlets Report Former APS Superintendent Beverly Hall Has Died

Multiple outlets are reporting that former Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Beverly Hall has died. GPB News is working to confirm those reports.

Hall had been battling stage 4 breast cancer while dozens of educators stood trial for a test cheating scandal that occurred when she was head of the school district.

She faced racketeering and conspiracy charges, but she was not well enough to take the stand. Her oncologist had said the cancer had spread to other parts of her body. She was diagnosed with the disease in 2004.
