'Ashley's War': Women Behind The Front Lines
Primary Content
Two women made history last year when they became the first female soldiers to graduate from the Army's Ranger School. It's one of the nation's toughest, special-ops teams and headquartered at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia. Early this year, military officials opened all combat positions to women. But the national debate about women in combat continues.
We revisit our conversation with author Gayle Tzemach Lemmon about her book, “Ashley's War: The Untold Story of a Team of Women Soldiers on the Special Ops Battlefield.” The paperback edition came out earlier this week.
Lemmon will speak at The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center in Columbus, Georgia as part of the Leadership Lecture Series. The event will begin at 5PM on Thursday night. More information about the event can be found here.
