Gov. Deal Vows To Veto Future Religious Liberty Bills
Primary Content
On this edition of Political Rewind our panel of insiders tackles a number of current issues in the news:
Governor Deal told the Atlanta Journal Constitution this week that any effort to renew the fight over a religious liberty bill will be met by another veto next legislative session. But Lt. Governor Casey Cagle and proponents of the measure insist they will be back with a new bill in January. Where is that fight headed? Governor Deal also said this week he hasn’t made up his mind about whether to sign the campus carry gun bill. Did he give a clue to how he’s leaning in his AJC interview?
Then, we look at where the presidential race stands as the crucial New York primary approaches next Tuesday. Hillary Clinton can go a long way to putting the nomination away if she wins by a big margin next week; but Bernie Sanders shows no signs of retreating. We’ll discuss their rock ‘em, sock ‘em debate in Brooklyn. Donald Trump is far out front in all the polls of New York voters. Can a big win in New York position him to win the GOP nomination on the first ballot in Cleveland?
