A new exhibit at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art celebrates footwear. “Out Of The Box: The Rise of Sneaker Culture” is a collection of unique and artful sneakers from famous brands like Nike, Converse and Adidas.  It’s a display that makes sneakerheads like Layla Turner drool.  "There's a really deeper lineage to it [sneakers] than just what you see of Kanye on the runway or Run DMC or Jordan. There's an intellectual root to it that talks about different ideas," said High Museum curator Sarah Schleuning.

Turner and curator Sarah Schleuning walk us through the exhibit and talk us through how sneaker culture has grown up alongside industry, music and fashion trends.

"Out of the Box: The Rise of Sneaker Culture" exhibit at Atlanta's High Museum runs through August 14. More information about the exhibit can be found here.
