Design, Wine and Dine is back along with fireworks and Tinsley Ellis….It’s time to talk about all the fun things you can get out and do and with some ideas, we have Jackie K. Cooper, a film critic with the Huffington Post and local harpist Betsy Fitzgerald.

Here are Betsy’s items for this week's show:

Annie Moses Band

Presented by Music and the Arts

The Annie Moses Band is an ensemble of six instrumentalists and vocalists.  Their cutting edge sound fuses American roots, folk rock, and jazz in stunning performances that feature strings, keyboards, guitar, and rhythm.  The family that makes up the ensemble is musically diverse - their converging artistry on stage creates a unique and beloved style.  With accolades that include 1200+ hours on PBS and recent debuts at Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry, the Annie Moses Band is bringing a distinctive style to American music.  Together they are leading an artistic renaissance, inspiring all generations to join the beauty and excitement of highly skilled musicianship.

Design, Wine and Dine

Presented by the Historic Macon Foundation

Design, Wine and Dine is a celebration of good food, fine spirits, and innovative design. For 7 days, Historic Macon Foundation brings new ideas to historic places. And it all happens in Macon, Georgia. Local and regional experts showcase the talent of the South in the three areas Southerners know best: design, wine and dining. I am particularly interested in the great food and drink events, especially the College Street Crawl from 7-10 pm on June 30th. For only $35, I can enjoy a progressive dinner down College Street that includes 4 courses with cocktails in four amazing historic homes, including this year’s Design House.

TINSLEY ELLIS

FRI, JUNE 17, 2016

Doors: 7:00 pm / Show: 8:00 pm

Cox Capitol Theatre

Macon, GA

$18.00 - $22.00

Southern blues-rocker TINSLEY ELLIS may speak no evil, but he sings and plays with the conviction of, as Billboard wrote, “...a man possessed.” Over the course of 11 albums and literally thousands of live performances, Ellis easily ranks as one of today’s most electrifying blues-rock guitarists and vocalists. He attacks his music with rock power and blues feeling, in the same tradition as his Deep South musical heroes Duane Allman and Freddie King and his old friends Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes. Atlanta Magazine declared Ellis “the most significant blues artist to emerge from Atlanta since Blind Willie McTell.”
