New research from the University Of Georgia links poverty to stifled brain development in children. The study also shows how those negative effects of poverty can be curbed by programs which implement positive parenting and improved family relationships. We talked with lead researcher Gene Brody about the findings, and Washington University professor Deanna Barch also joined us to talk about implications of the study.

We learn more about some of the best holiday beers from Kennesaw State University professor John Isenhour, who teaches a beer class.
Georgia is not particularly welcoming to the craft beer industry. In fact, our state ranks 48th for number of breweries per capita. Yet, a new one will open its doors next year. When it does, the Oconee Brewing Company will pour its beer into cans instead of bottles. We talked with Taylor Lamm, one of the owners of the new brewery about why it makes more sense to store beer in cans. Also, as part of our “Break It Down” series, we explain what the term “craft beer” actually means.
