Trump's Cabinet Nominees Head To Capitol Hill
Primary Content
Today on “Political Rewind,” just two more days until Donald Trump is inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States.
There is continuing drama over the feud between Georgia Congressman John Lewis and Trump with prominent Georgians now stepping into the fray. Martin Luther King III met with the president-elect in person while former Atlanta mayor and civil rights leader Andrew Young spoke with Trump on the phone. Young joined us live in our studios to tell us more about their conversation.
Also, our panel had much to say about the ongoing hearings for prospective Trump cabinet members. His pick for the Department of Education, Betsy DeVos, caused consternation when quizzed on guns in schools and came up with a response involving grizzly bears.
Georgia Congressman Tom Price, Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, is also being grilled on Capitol Hill today. On the topic of repealing Obamacare, Price said, “Nobody’s interested in pulling out the rug from under anybody.” Rep. Price’s stock purchases, as they relate to legislation, were also discussed.
Finally, some breaking news today as President Barack Obama stepped to the microphone for his final White House press briefing.
