A new study says there are dangerous chemicals that we should avoid in many cosmetic products, particularly those marketed to black women. We learned more about the evolution of these products and the dangers they may pose. We checked in with Nneka Leiba of the non-profit Environmental Working Group, Atlanta hair stylist Latasha Gray, and self-proclaimed “black hair historian” A'Lelia Bundles, who is also the great-great-granddaughter of Madam C. J. Walker.
