As we head toward Halloween, there's plenty to do in Savannah. Connect Savannah's Jessica Leigh Lebos and Savannah Master Calendar's Marianne Ganem Poppell have some suggestions.Jessica and Marianne discuss the weekend's events.

Marianne's picks:

-Feel like going a bit fancy with your costume? Try Masquerade in the Mansion, the William Jay Society's annual masked ball at the Telfair Academy. The event promises exotic entertainment and surprises, along with food and drink. Friday, 8 p.m.; $65 in advance and $85 at the door for members, $85 in advance and $100 at the door for non-members.

-Try out Savannah's newest home for tasty treats at Kitchen Vixen's store opening celebration. The shop offers handmade specialty cookies, as well as other pastries and tea. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

-The annual Savannah Film Festival gets underway with a full day of films on Saturday. The festivities include screenings, panel discussions and more, with several Hollywood luminaries expected in town. Full schedule and tickets here.

-The Bay Street Theatre is bringing back its time (warp)-honored Halloween tradition: The Rocky Horror Show Live. Enjoy the musical adventures of Brad and Janet at the castle of Dr. Frankenfurter, but note that props are prohibited (it's a live show, not a screening). Friday and Sunday, 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, 3 p.m.; $20.

-Savannah Pride is taking over downtown with a full day of events, including art, tours and panel discussions. Estelle will perform in Ellis Square, and surrounding bars have events and a self-guided pub crawl. Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; free entry with wristbands and VIP available to buy.

-While you're downtown, don't miss the big game: it's Georgia-Florida weekend. B&D Burgers will have drink specials and a DJ, with the game on the big screen.

-Save your appetite for the Jewish Food Festival on Sunday, moving this year to Monterey Square. The menu includes blintzes, challah, latkes and more. Sunday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; free to enter, food for purchase.
