It's that time of year: several of Savannah's big annual festivals return this weekend. Marianne Ganem Poppell of Savannah Master Calendar and Marcia Banes of Old Savannah Tours have some tips for the festivals and more.Marianne and Marcia offer their weekend suggestions.

Marcia's picks:

-Experience the magic firsthand at Magic Mike XXL, the authorized tribute show to the popular Channing Tatum movies, performed at the Stage on Bay. Thursday, 7:30 p.m.; $25-65.

-Spring weather comes early to Savannah, which means it's already time for Springtime Made in the South at the convention center. Find handmade jewelry, pottery, furniture and more at this annual show. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; $7.

-Savannah gets literary this weekend for the Savannah Book Festival. Tickets are limited for the headliners, but the Saturday festival day in Telfair Square is free and open. Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; free. Full schedule here.

-There will be a different festival atmosphere at Ships of the Sea Museum on Saturday. AURA Fest will bring a full day of music from underground rock bands, plus craft beer, tacos, arcade games and more. Saturday, 12:30-11 p.m.; $28.

Marianne's picks:

-Savannah's St. Patrick's Day festivities start a month in advance with this weekend's Irish Festival. The fun begins with a whiskey tasting Thursday and the Ceili Party Friday, both at Holmen Hall. Then on Saturday and Sunday, the Civic Center will feature music and dance performances as well lectures on Irish history and heritage. Full schedule here

-Celebrate local music legend Ben Tucker with a screening of In Tune: The Ben Tucker Story at St. John Baptist Church - the Mighty Fortress. It tells both Tucker's life story and the history of jazz in Savannah. Saturday, 3-5 p.m.; free. This event is part of the Savannah Black Heritage Festival - full schedule here.
