The people who work in the financial world have long skewed male, but things are starting to balance out. Today, 47 percent of management and professional roles in American financial firms are occupied by women, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Yet Georgia women who are full-time, year-round workers still earn around 82 cents for every dollar that Georgia men earn. On Second Thought host Virginia Prescott speaks with Tarra Jackson, Helen Ngo and Madi Gilroy.
We sat down with three women who occupy different lines of work in the financial realm. We asked them ways in which they combat sexism, the gender pay gap and how to be a mentor for other women seeking finance as a profession.
