Original Story:

Chatham County voters are choosing a new school board president today.  Joe Buck is seeking a third term, against Betty Morgan, a military vet and veteran teacher.

Both tell The Savannah Morning News they support pay increases for teachers and can solve the Board's divisive personality issues. They differ over some specifics, including the millage increase the Board recently approved. Buck says he would have voted for it, but would prefer a smaller increase. Morgan says she would have voted against the increase, and instead sought donations from the business community.

Leigh Gardener is a retired teacher.  She says experience played a role in her vote today.
