August brings plenty of fun things to do in and around Savannah. Ansley Connor of Visit Savannah and Bevin Valentine Jalbert of Paprika Southern have some tips.Ansley and Bevin talk weekend events

Bevin's picks:

• There's plenty to do at First Fridays in Starland. Big Bon Pizza will host a pop up with new prints and live music at Foxy Loxy, Henny Penny will present Walls of Wildflowers and lots of local artisans will have their wares for sale at the Starland street fair from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday; free.
• Spend the weekend at the movies as the Lucas Theatre continues to show film classics. First is the classic romance Sabrina, starring Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart, at 7 p.m. Friday. Then take the family to The Lion King at 3 p.m. Sunday. Both films are $8 general admission, $5 students, seniors and military.
• Find some family fun at the Jepson Center's Free Family Days, this month tied to the "Open Road" exhibit of travel photography. Talk to local photgraphers, enjoy kids' activities and make an end-of-summer postcard from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday; free.

• See the latest art that Sulfur Studios has on display as part of First Friday. The group exhibition "Breaking Through" showcases contemporary jewelry, artist in residence Michelle Quick presents "Shoemaking Demystified" and Kevin Clancy will show his painting MFA collection "What So Proudly We Hail'd" from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday; free.
• Randall Bramblett returns to the Tybee Post Theater after selling out last summer's show. He's performed with legends like the Allman Brothers and Bonnie Raitt as well as touring solo, and will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday; $25.
• Enjoy a bit of opera as the Savannah Voice Festival gets underway. First up is "Pages in a Book" at the Westin, a sampling of romantic stories including a fairy tale and a tragedy at 7 p.m. Saturday; $55 general seating, $65 premium. Next is "Death, By Aria," a showcase of cast members from several shows at Christ Church Episcopal at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday; $22.
