Former Democratic Candidate for Governor Stacey Abrams is using her fundraising abilities to aid Democrats in the state and to ensure that she remains at the forefront of the state’s Democratic party

Abrams gifted tens of thousands of dollars to the 91 members of the Georgia General Assembly and the Georgia Senate. The political action committee that the Abrams campaign formed following their loss in the 2018 Midterm Elections, Fair Fight Georgia, continues to raise money through the new year. Funds donated to the group are used to support efforts in election reform and advocation for issues that afflict voters in the state.

In a statement Abrams said that, “in an early effort to support Georgia’s elected leaders in their re-election efforts, we have donated to every Democratic member of the Georgia legislature. These leaders will be on the frontlines of upcoming battles over the future of our state and we look forward to fighting alongside them.”

Abrams has yet to announce whether or not she plans to seek higher office, although she has hinted that she plans to announce a decision in the coming months.

The funds supporting her Democratic colleagues in the state come the day after Abrams announced on Twitter that she is endorsing Senator Nikema Williams in her bid to be the next leader of the Democratic Party of Georgia.
