Gov. Brian Kemp will appear on GPB TV's "Lawmakers" at 7 p.m. Monday.

Host Scott Slade has the one-on-one interview for viewers on GPB TV.

Kemp was inaugurated as the state's 83rd governor last week, and in his first speech to Georgians reiterated some of his campaign’s focus areas like education, and made a pledge to unify the state following a tight and prolonged contest with Democrat Stacey Abrams.

“Elections can simply rip us apart,” he said. “But after visiting all 159 counties I can tell you this: we have so much in common.”

One of Kemp's first executive orders calls for a uniform sexual harassment prevention policy that applies to the executive branch of state government, mandatory training for state employees and requires all complaints to be centrally reviewed by the state Office of the Inspector General instead of within the individual agencies.

Kemp's first proposed budget calls for teacher and state employee raises. Kemp also used his first address to ask for an increase in mental health funding and the creation of an anti-gang taskforce.
