Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, was born in Plains, Georgia in 1924.

This weekend will be full of music celebrations ahead of the Grammys on Sunday, with Atlanta and Georgia being well represented.

But one of Georgia’s most famous sons is up for an award without rapping, singing or producing.

Former President Jimmy Carter is going for his third Grammy win in the Best Spoken Word Album category.

The 94-year-old is nominated for his book "Faith: A Journey For All."

Carter won his campaign for the White House in 1976. His campaign song was named after biography he wrote titled, "Why Not The Best?"

After serving as president, Carter would go on to win the Nobel Prize in 2002 for his humanitarian work.

Now, he lives in Plains, Georgia with his wife, Rosalynn. And if you ever find yourself in that part of the state, the oldest-living president is still teaching Sunday school, twice a month.
