On this edition of Political Rewind, the legislature continues to hurtle toward Sine Die with some of the most controversial measures seen in decades still unresolved. A bill to protect Confederate monuments is still in play. And the fetal heartbeat bill will soon be scheduled for debate in the full Senate.

Civic leaders across the state will be watching the outcome of today’s Gwinnett County MARTA election. If the bill passes, it will send a signal to other communities to begin exploring public transit as part of their transportation mix.

And as C-SPAN celebrates 40 years of broadcasting live from the U.S. Senate and House, we’ll look at one Georgian who mastered the new form to advance his political career.

Panelists:

Kevin Riley -- Editor, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Mary Margaret Oliver -- Democratic State Representative

Chris Grant -- Political Science Chair, Mercer University
